Rihanna’s relationship with her father continues to devolve, with the pop star recently filing a lawsuit against him for using her brand name, Fenty, in his business ventures.
Together with his business partner, Moses Perkins, Riri’s father, Ronald Fenty reportedly attempted to act as her agent and tried to book a string of tour dates in Latin America for $15 Million, in addition to two shows at the Staples Center in L.A. and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000.
While Fenty claims that he did so in association with Rihanna’s music label, Roc Nation, she argues that they were not notified of any developments regarding the same.
“Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf,” reads the official statement.
When the duo repeatedly tried to profit off of Rihanna’s reputation through their entertainment company, Fenty Entertainment, she proceeded to send them several cease and desist letters, but after they repeatedly turned a blind eye to them, she has finally requested an injunction against her father and an undisclosed sum in damages.
