Meghan Markle has gone into labor!
Buckingham Palace confirmed the news this Monday, May 6, stating that the Duchess of Sussex went into labor “in the early hours of this morning” and “The Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side.”
RadarOnline.com readers know Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, flew to London two weeks ago to be by her side during the birth, as her original due date was set for late April. Prince Harry also changed his schedule, cancelling a trip to the Netherlands to stay with his pregnant wife.
This May 5, The Sun reported Meghan, 37, would have to have induced labor if she didn’t show progress within the next 48 hours.
Though the former Suits actress was initially hoping for a home birth, her “overdue” status did not allow it.
An insider told The Sun the Duchess was experiencing much anxiety as a first time mom, and the “added stress of the world’s attention on her” wasn’t helping.
Radar readers know Meghan and Harry, 34, previously stated they would be having a private birth, and would not announce their royal baby’s arrival until after they’d celebrated with the family. Last week, they jetted off to their new cottage at Frogmore Cottage — away from the spotlight and from the royals at Kensington Palace.
They have yet to reveal whether they’ll be welcoming a son or a daughter.
