Mo Salah thanked Liverpool supporters for the "incredible experience" he enjoyed in his first season at Anfield after putting pen to paper on a new deal .
The Egyptian has signed a five-year, £200,000 a week contract at Anfield after scoring a stunning 44 goals in 52 appearances in his debut Reds season, propelling Jurgen Klopp’s side to fourth in the Premier League and into the Champions League final.
He had been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but has extended his stay at Anfield in 2023.
And in a video tweeted by Liverpool’s official account, he spoke directly to supporters.
"Hello to Liverpool fans," he said. "I’m very happy to say I have signed a new contract to the club.
"My first year at the club was an incredible experience for me and my family.
"I have to thank everyone at Liverpool and also you, our supporters.
"I know we can achieve a lot of things together
"I’m looking forward to seeing you. See you soon."
Liverpool returned to pre-season training on Monday, although Salah will have a few more weeks off following his exertions at the World Cup, where he scored two goals in two games for Egypt, despite their elimination.
