Shaughna Phillips may have come across a bubbly and confident young woman on Love Island, but behind the scenes, the former democratic services officer was facing a different reality.
The reality star, who recently shared an emotional tribute to her late dad, has opened up about her body insecurities while staying in the villa in South Africa earlier this year.

"I was killing myself doing these workouts," she explained.
The Celebs Go Virtual Dating star said she felt terrible being surrounded by the other girls in the villa and would cry to the show's therapist.

After leaving the show, the Londoner discovered that she was suffering from Lipoedema, an abnormal build up of fat, and she recently underwent liposuction surgery to drain the fat from her calves.
Shaughna, who opened up about her worst date, continued: "When I came off the show I had all these messages asking if I had been diagnosed with lipoedema – I had no idea what it meant but it was a breakthrough for me.
"It's scary to think to that had I not found out about my condition, and intervened when I did, I would've just been getting progressively worse, and in pain as well," she shared.
