The Buzz Aldrin Space Foundation — which the famed astronaut is suing, alleging it is using his finances to fund “future educational endeavors” whereas his goal is to “fund current educational endeavors” — is striking back.
Foundation rep Brett Griffin tells Page Six, “We are disappointed and upset at the unsubstantiated and inaccurate claims made by those representing Col. Aldrin to the media.”
He continues in a statement, “We remain committed to doing what we can to protect the reputation and well-being of Col. Aldrin throughout this contentious and unfortunate situation. The Aldrin family and foundation continue to be very concerned for his vulnerability to manipulation by other parties seeking to gain access to, and control of, the foundation and his personal resources.”
Aldrin’s lawyer told us previously when it comes to these claims, “Buzz Aldrin is in control of everything. No one is controlling Buzz.”
Aldrin’s lawsuit is also against his children Andrew and Janice, former manager Christina Korp and the Florida Institute of Technology and includes allegations of elder exploitation, fraud and slander.
