Billy Crystal appeared in the West Village with Kevin Kline, Annette Bening and Dick Cavett for a reading of a play he wrote almost a decade ago.
The never-produced play penned with Quinton Peeples, “Have a Nice Day,” is about a US president.
Crystal joked: “We are now at this point where it’s nice to do a piece that’s fun and optimistic about the White House.”
The reading was recorded for Audible.
Crystal joked, “This is performed in front of a live audience . . . as opposed to a dead audience, which of course would be the Senate.”
Darrell Hammond and Rachel Dratch also played roles.
