Trump-Loving Florida Governor Nominee Says Voting For Black Opponent Would ‘Monkey This Up’

Are you kidding, Ron DeSantis?!

DeSantis is a Donald Trump-loving Floridian who is the Republican Party’s candidate for Governor in the state’s upcoming election after winning the GOP primary this week.

But now, uh, he’s not looking so good to any (normal, non-racist) Florida voters as they decide between him and Democrat Andrew Gillum, an African-American man who currently serves as the mayor of Tallahassee.

That’s because on Wednesday, DeSantis appeared on Fox News for an interview that went viral for all the wrong reasons, and he’s taking a LOT of heat for a really inappropriate comment during the show.

Ch-ch-check out this video (below), and see if you can, uh, hear anything DeSantis says that probably shouldn’t ever be said by anyone, ever:

Did… did he just say monkey this up when referencing Gillum?

The full quote, in case you don’t have your sound on for the video, is below:

“You know, is a guy, although he’s much too liberal for Florida, I think he’s got huge problems with how he’s governed Tallahassee … I watched those Democrats debate and none of that is just my cup of tea, but he performed better than the other people there, so we gotta work hard to make sure that we continue Florida going in a good direction. Let’s build off the success we’ve had on Gov. Scott. The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases bankrupting the state. That is not going to work.”

Side note… how exactly will huge tax increases bankrupt the state? Sorry, unrelated, it’s just that the GOP’s platform right now is total bullsh*t!!

But back to the important stuff: monkey this up? Really, bro?

Did you not think for two seconds that maybe “monkey” is a word you should stay away from in regards to your opponent and the racially-charged history of that word in this country??

Ron DeSantis may be running for Governor of Florida, but judging by this, he’s a moron at best… and something far worse, if you’re cynical about it…
