In 2016 one of then-candidate Donald Trump’s butlers indicated that his staff could tell what Trump’s mood would be from the color of his cap. Anthony Senecal said that if his employer was wearing a white baseball cap, the boss would be in a good mood, and if it was red, it was best to stay away (via The New York Times).
President Donald Trump had a white cap on when he headed out for the golf course close to noon on Saturday, but he couldn’t have been in the best of moods when the media called the election and named his rival Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States. Minutes after Biden’s win was announced, reports CNBC, the Trump campaign released a statement signed by the president himself saying: “We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: They don’t want the truth to be exposed.” What truth, exactly, was not elaborated on.
Trump continued, “The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.” He also promised that his campaign would “start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated” (via Twitter).
Rudy Giuliani alleges that there are ballots still in question
The statement was issued as the Twitterverse buzzed over an original tweet from the president saying: “Lawyers Press Conference at Four Seasons, Philadelphia. 11:00 A.M.” (via The Independent). That tweet was later corrected to read: “Big press conference today in Philadelphia at Four Seasons Total Landscaping — 11:30am!”
Before members of the media could rush over to the Four Seasons hotel, the property tweeted: “To clarify, President Trump’s press conference will NOT be held at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. It will be held at Four Seasons Total Landscaping — no relation with the hotel.”
So it was from the carpark of Four Seasons Total Landscaping that Trump’s legal team laid out the case for what was to come: “Obviously he’s not going to concede when at least 600,000 ballots are in question,” Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer said. Networks including CNBC, which reported on Giuliani’s comment, also said the former New York Mayor has not provided any evidence to back the Trump campaign’s assertions of voting impropriety.
