No transfer window is complete without social media hint or 17, and it seems as though this one is no different.
It might actually be in players’ new contracts to do these sort of things these days, or at least something that their agents tell them to do as a potential transfer draws ever nearer.
And Arsenal target Bernd Leno is the latest example.
The German goalkeeper is hotly-tipped to be the man Unai Emery wants to faze out Petr Cech in the Gunners goal, with a £22m deal for the Bayer Leverkusen star lined up earlier this week, via our own John Cross .
And Leno has been exciting supporters with his social media activity in the past few days, because it seems as though he liked an Instagram post suggesting that he was the top candidate to become Arsenal’s new keeper.
That was enough to send the fans into a frenzy, with a deal now expected to be completed within the coming days, as Leno isn’t in the Germany squad at the World Cup.
Which makes you wonder, just how did transfers get done before social media was around?!
