DEAR DEIDRE: MY anxiety has got the better of me since I reached out to my dream podcast guest – and now I’m not sure how to follow up.
I’m a 25-year-old man and I started my show just over a year ago.
Over the last few months it started to take off, so I decided to take a leap of faith and contact my dream guest. To my shock, his personal assistant replied.
I couldn’t believe it. She said that he wasn’t available for an appearance in 2023 but to check back in January.
I’m so excited, but nervous about approaching him again.
I don’t deal with uncertainty very well. How do I overcome my nerves?

It’s normal to feel nervous about working with someone you look up to.
However, if your anxiety is becoming all-consuming, it would be best to tackle these feelings.
Don’t shy away from this opportunity.
The more you lean into it, the more you will remind yourself you can cope with uncertainty and, in the long term, even rise to the occasion.
