Ryan Edwards, the former boyfriend of Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout and the father of their son, Bentley, has struggled with addiction for most of his adult life. But Edwards was recently released from a 90-day stay at a rehab facility to hopefully get himself clean for the last time. But what does it mean for his marriage?

Edwards has been in and out of rehab before
This isn’t Edwards’ first time in rehab — he checked in back in 2017 after he was caught driving under the influence. But this time, he was serious about getting sober. He checked himself into a 90-day, strict rehab facility with the hope of shutting down his demons for good. His family explained the situation on the show, saying they were only allowed to speak to him twice a week for 10 minutes at a time. On the show, Edwards’ parents explained that they hadn’t yet told his son, Bentley, that his father was back in rehab. They said they were waiting for the right time to tell both Bentley and Maci.
Standifer said she was happy to have her husband home
On November 28, Edwards was released from rehab, and his wife couldn’t have been happier. She said to a fan on Instagram, “Oh my [expletive]. Longest [expletive] 90 days of my life and they are COMPLETED.” It was evident Standifer was overjoyed to have her husband back home. She also posted a message on Instagram that most likely hinted at Edwards’ recent sobriety. “You can rise up from anything. You can completely recreate yourself. Nothing is permanent,” part of the message read.
Standifer said she can ask for nothing more than for him to stay healthy
All Standifer wants at this point is her husband’s health. While Edwards’ was in rehab, he missed the birth of the couple’s first son, Jagger. However, Standifer said she doesn’t resent him for missing the moment. “If I did not love Ryan, I would call him the most selfish a—hole ever for missing this, but this is a drop in this baby’s life, and if he’s gonna miss him being born and be healthy forever, I mean, what more could I ask for?” she said on the show. At the end of the day, Edwards’ sobriety for life means much more than him being there to witness the birth of their child.
But a source close to the family said she will file for divorce if he relapses again
However, things aren’t as perfect as they seem. Despite Edwards being sober, he has relapsed in the past, and there is always the worry he will do it again. His mother said on the show, “I mean you worry every day. You don’t know if there’s going to be a trigger.” And a source close to the family told RadarOnline that if Edwards relapses again, Standifer will file for divorce. The source said she wouldn’t want to be with someone who didn’t want to help himself. If Edwards can stay clean for life, they’ll be incredibly happy together. However, if he goes back down a dark path, Standifer may find herself a single mom once more.
