Asda is selling Costa's gingerbread latte that you can make at home

The coffee chain has launched a version of its gingerbread latte you can make at home, and it's available to buy now in Asda for £5.

However there is a catch – it comes in Tassimo coffee pods so you'll only be able try it at home if you own a Tassimo machine. These start at £50 if you buy them directly from the Tassimo website.

You get 8 pods inside a pack, which works out at around 62p for one cup of coffee.

In comparison Costa's seasonal drinks, such as this year's bonfire latte, start at £2.95 each so you'll make a decent saving.

The seasonal flavour is also limited edition, so you'll have to be quick if you want to get your hands on it.

The festive coffee was spotted on the supermarket's shelves by the Instagram account @instafoodietwins, which posts about the latest food and drink releases.

And it seems people are excited to try the new flavour with one person commenting: "That sounds great. I would love a cup right about now."

Costa launched its autumn menu this year with an unusual new range of bonfire flavoured drinks.

The "bonfire" flavour comes from a combination rich caramel toffee and toasted spices.

Rival coffee chain Starbucks has also launched a maple latte range for autumn which comes in three different varieties and start from £3.15.
