Boy, 15, shot in late night street attack in London

A 15-year-old boy has been shot in a late night street attack in London.

Police were called to reports of a shooting on Unity Close in West Norwood, shortly after 10pm.

The child had fled the scene but was later located and taken to hospital.

It is not believed that his injuries are life-threatening at this stage.

The Lambeth Metropolitan Police Central South Command said: “We were called at 22.13 to a 15-year-old boy shot in Unity Close, SE19.

“He walked off after the shooting, but officers located him and gave first aid prior to an ambulance taking him to hospital.

“He is awaiting full assessment, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”

They later added: "A crime scene remains In place at Unity Close SE19 while officers work to recover evidence.

"We thank residents for their continued patience and understanding."

No arrests have been made.
