Chilling Way New Mexico Shooter Got Into The School

Chilling new details have emerged on Thursday’s New Mexico shooting.

In order to infiltrate the school, the 21-year-old gunman disguised himself as a student, before heading to a vacant bathroom on the second floor of Aztec High School. Then he took out his Glock 9mm handgun and shot the first student he saw.

He then went on a rampage that left another student dead before killing himself.

The shooter’s name was William Atchison and was a former student at Aztec High School. During a press conference, San Juan County Sheriff Ken Christesen detailed the shooter’s action as well as possible motives. “This was a planned event,” Christesen said, revealing that a thumb drive found on Atchison’s corpse contained documents which detailed the gunman’s plan.

Found on one of the documents: “I go somewhere and gear up, then hold a class hostage and go ape$#[email protected], then blow my brains out.”

Atchison entered Aztec High along with the rest of the students at 8 a.m. He then made his way to the second floor and found an empty bathroom stall where he readied his 9mm handgun while his backpack contained multiple loaded magazines.

The first student to die was Francisco I. Fernandez, who merely got up to use the restroom. Atchison shot him as he exited, then stalked the hallways looking for his next victim.

He found it in Casey J. Marquez, who was out in the hallway at the wrong time. After dispatching his second victim, Atchison walked from door to door, shooting wildly into classrooms.

“This person is not only a coward, he’s evil,” Christesen added.

Christesen also pointed out how heroic school staff acted in the first few moments of the shooting. A substitute teacher in the computer lab quite possibly saved his students by herding them into the office closet and barricading the door. The school janitor also shouted for students and teachers to lock classrooms and take shelter.

Miraculously, Atchison only managed to kill the initial two students, although he was heard shouting, “I know you’re in there!”

Now speculation turns to Atchison’s motives. The thumb drive seemed to indicate the gunman was struggling with depression or some other mental illness, writing, “Work sucks, school sucks, life sucks. I just want out of this [email protected]#$.”

It looks like Atchison got his wish. The gunman shot himself shortly after police arrived on the scene.
