Chris Appleton wants to help you glow like J.Lo.
The celebrity hairstylist has worked closely with Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and more superstars for their most memorable hair moments, from high ponytails to waist-length extensions and gravity-defying braids.
Now, Appleton has partnered with Color Wow to create his very first product: the Money Masque ($45), which he says he created to make average folks feel expensive, too.
In a Zoom meeting with editors and influencers including Page Six Style, Appleton explained that the name stemmed from his desire to “make every woman feel like J.Lo — to feel their best.”
The product, which is now available to purchase online at Sephora as well as Color Wow’s own website, was formulated for all hair types and promises instant results when it comes to both conditioning and prepping for styling.
“Anyone that knows me know that I like a lot of product to create the texture you need. We basically put this into a mask; not only do you get all the nourishment, but it also leaves you with what you need to style,” Appleton said.
He continued, “The beauty of hair is in the condition. If your hair is not in great condition, it’s not going to come through looking good.”
Appleton has long been a fan and ambassador of Color Wow, which was created by ex-John Freida co-founder Gail Federici, and swears by the brand’s Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment ($28) — which, as it turns out, was the key to keeping Lopez’s hair in check during her 2020 Super Bowl halftime performance.
“I wanted the hair to move with Jen,” he said of prepping for the big performance. “The biggest problem I had was the humidity, being in Miami. So using the Dream Coat was a game changer; it kept her hair in place and the moisture never penetrated her hair, and it kept the bounce.”
