Coca-Cola has cancelled its iconic truck tour for the first time in a decade.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the big red truck won’t be making its way around the UK.

In a tweet, the company said: "Due to current restrictions around the country, our Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour won't go ahead this year.

"We know it's disappointing, but we'll continue to share special Christmas moments throughout the festive season.

"We look forward to seeing you next year!"

Brits are gutted by the news with many sharing their disappointment on Twitter.

One Coca-Cola fan tweeted: “Noooo it’s the official start to Christmas for us. Never mind – look forward to the advert though.”

Another said: “It’s not Christmas without the Coca-Cola truck! I guess we will make do with the advert then.”

A third wrote: “Another disappointment to end a miserable year.”

And a fourth added: “Thank goodness I got to see it last year. At least it will appear in the Christmas advert hopefully!”

According to Cheshire Live, the red truck usually visits more than 40 locations across the UK from the end of November.

In previous years, hundreds travelled to the closest truck locations to grab a free bottle of Coca-Cola and snap a festive picture.

For many, the tour signalled the start of the festive period and made them very excited for the big day ahead.

As Twitter users have pointed out, we'll have to make do with the advert this year!
