The flat cooling yarn used in the underwear gives it more surface area than traditional yarns which means heat is distributed away from the body more effectively.

The smart tech fabric works in much the same way as our skin and helps moisture to evaporate faster when the skin is hot, and slower when the skin is cool.

The delicate balance of the fibres help moisture to travel easily through the layers so that sweat is transmitted from the skin to surface at the right speed to ensure maximum comfort all day.

The £19 pants and £39 vest, which come in nude and black, have received almost exclusively five star reviews thanks to their sweat and odour reducing properties

The products (worn by models here) have been proven to reduce the number and severity of hot flushes and night sweats in 87 per cent of women

Finally another smart tech-fabric finish that controls odour. Traditionally used with extreme sportswear, it is a versatile finish that prevents odour by essentially creating a barrier between the odour producing bacteria and the fabrics and preventing a breeding ground for it.

The products have been proven to reduce the number and severity of hot flushes and night sweats in 87 per cent of women.

WHAT IS A HOT FLUSH?

During perimenopause, the changes in estrogen levels disproportionately affect the hypothalamus which controls the appetite, sleep cycles, hormones and body temperature.

As a result your body temperature gets affected disproportionately which is manifested in a hot flush.

The hypothalamus will suddenly begin to send signals that your core body temperature is too hot making you feel flushed and start sweating, then to compensate the rise, the core body temperature drops, at this time, that’s why you get the sudden chills afterwards.

Writing on the Facebook page user said: ‘So pleased I got my vest – wore it on one of the hottest nights this year and slept all night with no hot flushes – so happy.’

Agreeing a second posted: ‘Absolutely fabulous! Was really sceptical but so fed up waking through the night drenched and uncomfortable and continually washing sheets, thought best to give it a go, wow, I was amazed I actually slept for a whole 6 hours, comfortable and body dry!

‘Bonus am not snappy and miserable in the morning! Thank you! Ordering more!’

In another five-star review a third wrote: ‘I never imagined for one minute that these would work but last night I didn’t wake up wet and cold for first time in 3 years. Thank you so much.’
