Storm Keating recently bravely described her terrifying health ordeal, which saw her rushed to hospital for emergency spinal surgery as she had a “very bad prolapsed disc”.

And Ronan Keating’s wife Storm was also diagnosed with a rare and severe type of spinal stenosis where all the nerves in the lower back become severely compressed.

She shared a picture from her hospital bed as she thanked doctors for taking such incredible care of her.

But what do we know about the mum-of-two? Let’s take a look…

How old is she?

The blonde beauty was born Sharyn Storm Uechtritz and was born on October 27 1981, which makes her 39.

Her father Gordon Charles Uechtritz, who was a cattleman, and mother Debra Lynn Uechtritz, loved the name Storm but feared she would be made fun of so added Sharyn.

Sharing a picture of her birth certificate to her Instagram in March 2016, she wrote: “Storm is my middle name and my parents have always called me Storm.

“They made my first name "Sharyn" because they were worried that people might make fun of me… turns out they were right to.

“They took the name "Storm" from one of the novels in Wilbur Smith's first trilogy (a famous South African journalist) because they loved it and have called me Storm since I was born.

“The use of middle names is not uncommon.”

Where is she from?

Storm was born in Childers, Australia. She spent the first seven years of her life in a small village in Papua New Guinea before her parents moved to a cattle farm in Australia in 1988.

She is the youngest of three older brothers, Wayne Gordon, Graeme Murray and Peter John.

What does she do?

Storm spent her final year of her degree at the University of California in Los Angeles.

She completed an internship at HBO in the Original Programming Department before moving back to Australia to embark on her career in TV production in Sydney at Channel Nine.

Storm worked on the Australian version of The Apprentice and formats including The X Factor, MasterChef and The Voice.

And in 2012, Storm re-located to London to work on The Voice UK as a producer-director.

While still working in TV, Storm made the move into the fashion industry.

In 2011 she collaborated with Italian shoe designer Stivaleria Cavallin before launching the “Storm Boots” which debuted at the Burberry show during London Fashion Week in 2015.

In February 2016 she launched the “S Blog” which she describes as a “collection of thoughts, passions, appreciations and adventures”.

How did Storm meet husband Ronan?

Storm tied the knot with her university sweetheart Tim Ivers in 2009 but the pair parted ways two years later.

The fashion designer later met Ronan on the set of The X Factor Australia.

The couple wed in an idyllic outdoor ceremony overlooking the Scottish coastline in East Lothian in August 2015 with Shape of You hitmaker Ed Sheeran singing for their first dance.


Who are her children?

In April 2017, Ronan and Storm welcomed their first child together, son Cooper, three, before daughter Coco, one, was born in March last year.

Storm is also step-mum to Ronan’s three older children, Missy, 20, Jack, 21, and Ali, 15, who he shares with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.
