Pretty in pink, indeed! After wowing us at the Met Gala with her best dressed-worthy Atelier Versace gown, ornate headpiece and beautiful berry-stained beauty look, Blake Lively was back at it again on Wednesday, May 9, with a dreamy bubblegum-hued lip and cheek that is perfect for spring. Celeb makeup artist Kristofer Buckle is the man behind both looks, and he let Us in on exactly what it takes to recreate Blake’s pink pout in case you’re in need of some spring-summer inspo!

In a post on his Instagram feed showing off his handiwork, Buckle explained that the actress was headed to an event for the nonprofit Baby2Baby. As he told Us, because she was attending a morning affair, he opted to create an “elevated daytime glam” look, and, we have to say, he nailed it.

Complementing the mom of two’s blush-tone sleeveless dress and doubled up Alison Lou’s Jelly Hoops (which we deemed the earring trend of the summer after seeing Tracee Ellis Ross sport a pair earlier this month!), Buckle gave Blake her signature ethereal glow, shimmering eye and rosy cheek. But it’s her retro lipstick that has Us obsessed!

Buckle shared that he used the Cashmere Slip lipstick in Doll from his own collection on the star. “It’s a soft, matte, wearable pink that glides on smoothly and provides long-lasting color,” he said of the hue that calls to mind a Barbie doll’s pretty pink pout.

And while there is an endless array of pink lipstick options on the market, this particular shade will be earning a permanent spot in our rotation because it is a ‘60s-inspired highly-pigmented pastel pink that manages to be matte but not drying and opaque but not dated — a true win-win, if you ask Us!
