Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK's daily newsletter. You can sign up at the top of the page.

Even if you don't have a home assistant set up, if you have a compatible phone you can download Google Assistant and achieve the same results.

Accessing you assistant with your voice you simply ask it “Hey Google, Send Me a Sample” or “Alexa, Send Me a Sample” and the app should ask you to fill in your details on the relevant site.

Once you have registered entering your personal details including the address you wish them to be sent to, return to the app and say the request again, this time your home assistant will explain to you which samples are currently running.

Send me a Sample has already worked with companies such as Coca Cola, Nestle and Benefit Cosmetics, and the most recent one Nars offers customers the chance to pick up a sample of the make-up brand's iconic Orgasm Blush, mascara or lipstick.

Once you make your pick it responds by saying the sample will be on its way, with a delivery estimate of two weeks.

The samples currently only work for residents in the UK or US, and you are also required to give them your date of birth to get alcohol-related items if you are over 18.

According to current users of Send Me A Sample, the past freebies have included a Whisky Ginger by Johnnie Walker, Bacardi, Zendium toothpaste, Lidl Lupilu newborn nappies sample, Dunkin’ Shot in the Dark coffee, Issey Miyake perfume sample, Regenerate toothpaste, and Jean-Paul Gaultier perfume.

The samples are limited, with the Nars options only available once per person and you can check on their “what’s available” page to check the different samples on offer.
