DEAR DEIDRE: HAVING recently come out as gay, I am confused about who or what I am.
I am a 29-year-old man but I love dressing as my female persona and I’m wondering if I should live as that all the time.
I’m not sure I want to do the full transition – ops and everything – or whether I’m actually a transvestite.
All this uncertainty is really getting me down.
My family have been fairly supportive of my decision to live as a gay man but I think anything else may be a step too far for them.

DEIDRE SAYS: Please don’t put yourself under any pressure to make big announcements or feel the need to label yourself.
Sexuality for many is fluid – it can change and shift.
If you decide you are in fact transgender, this is about your gender identity not your sexuality.
So enjoy experimenting and take it slowly.
