It just got a whole lot easier to dress like some of Hollywood’s most stylish celebs. Star stylist Karla Welch (the woman behind of the wardrobes of A-listers like Busy Philipps, Sarah Paulson and Tracee Ellis Ross to name a few) is teaming up with Levi’s to reimagine some the American denim brand’s most iconic silhouettes (think: denim pants, shirts and jackets) in honor of the original 501 blue jean’s 145th birthday. Even better? The stylist enlisted a couple dozen of her famous friends to star in the Levi’s x karla campaign.
“It’s all very customization focused,” Welch said of the collab, which added cozy shearling details to reversible jean jackets and red pockets to straight-leg jeans, in addition to dreaming up new wide-leg and knicker denim styles. “They’re original designs based on the parameters of utilizing a 501 or an existing Levi’s pattern.”
With self-expression at the core of the designs, Karla invited a bevy of Hollywood beauties like Ross, Philipps, Paulson, Hailey Baldwin, Yara Shahidi, SZA, America Ferrera, Carolyn Murphy, Michelle Monaghan and dozens more to show off their style in the campaign’s portrait series and video, which features Yoko Ono’s 1973 track “Yang Yang.” The music legend donated the song in support of Everytown for Gun Safety, and Levi’s will be making a one-time donation to the organization in honor of the collaboration.
The Levi’s x karla 501 Day Collection launches Sunday, May 20, in stores and online, but keep scrolling for a sneak peek at some of our favorite styles and check out the star-studded campaign video below!
