Martin Lewis’ MSE reveals trick to extend Tesco vouchers that expire within DAYS

MILLIONS of pounds worth of Tesco vouchers are set to expire within days.

Shoppers need to use the Clubcard money-off coupons before the end of the month – or use a quick trick to extend them.

Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert (MSE) has revealed how Tesco customers can extend the use of vouchers they have earned through the Clubcard loyalty scheme.

Vouchers are dished out four times a year and expire after two years.

The supermarket has warned that a whopping £17million worth of rewards are due to expire on May 31.

Anyone who doesn't spend them by this date is set to lose the perk – unless they use MSE's trick to extend them.

MSE said: "While Clubcard vouchers are valid for two years, if yours are expiring but you don't want to use them yet, there's a crafty way you can extend their expiry date for another two years but you must do so before 11:59pm on May 31."

The experts say you'll need to do one simple thing that means you won't lose points.

Just make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website and you'll get the remaining points credited back to your account.

For example you could get a 50p voucher to spend at restaurants like Hungry Horse pubs, Zizzi or Cafe Rouge.

It'll give you £1.50 to spend at your chosen location, as the rewards are worth three times as much as the voucher value.

Tesco Clubcard Rewards is where you can switch your points for rewards like day trips to theme parks or dinner out.

Usually you get one point for every £1 spent – or one point for every £2 on fuel – and 150 points is equivalent to a £1.50 voucher.

Customers can then use vouchers in-store and online to knock money off their weekly shopping bill or cut the cost of filling up their car with fuel – or swap them for rewards worth more.

If you've only spent 50p of a voucher worth £10 on a reward, then you'll get the £9.50 of points back in your account.

These points will then be included when your next new voucher is issued.

And as it's new that will have a two year expiry date on it.

You won't get this if you buy something in store or online using the voucher though – it's only if you're using them on rewards.

MSE also says you'll also need to do this for each voucher you have.

You can check the expiry date on any vouchers you have using the Tesco website or app.

The app is available for both iPhone and Android users.

You can log in to the Tesco Clubcard website, which shows your voucher history, including points that haven't been spent yet.

You don't have to wait around for your new vouchers every three months either.
