Toe-curling moment a cheeky 10-year-old patient asks his red-faced mother what a VIRGIN is on 24 Hours in A&E – and then demands to know if she is one

  • Aiden, 10, asked his mother what a virgin was in Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E
  • His mum Angel said it was someone who ‘hasn’t done something before’
  • The cheeky schoolboy then demanded to know Angel was a virgin herself

This is the moment a red-faced mother fielded awkward questions from her 10-year-old son as they waited to be seen in the middle of a busy A&E department.

In toe-curling scenes on Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E, Aiden asked his mother Angel what a virgin was after being presented with a Virgin Atlantic badge.

Angel, who had brought her son to St George’s Hospital in London after he fell from a set of monkey bars, looked embarrassed as she attempted to give an age-appropriate explanation, saying that it was just someone who ‘hasn’t done something before’.

However, that wasn’t enough to satisfy Aiden’s curiosity, as he then demanded to know if his mother was a virgin herself.

Aiden, 10, asked his mum Angel what a virgin was when he waited to be seen in last night’s 24 Hours in A&E

Aiden had hurt his foot after falling from monkey bars, and spent hours waiting to be seen by a doctor during the episode.

To keep him occupied, his mother’s partner Lorraine pinned her work badge from Virgin Atlantic on his school shirt to let him play with it.

The unfamiliar word puzzled Aiden, who said: ‘What’s a virgin?’

Lorraine and Angel exchanged a knowing glance as his mother tried to think of an explanation quickly.

Angel looked embarrassed as she told him that a virgin was someone who ‘hasn’t done something before

The question popped into his mind when his mum’s girlfriend stuck a Virgin Atlantic badge on his school shirt

‘Somebody who has never done something before,’ she said, which made her blushing girlfriend laugh.

The sharp schoolboy clearly understood that they were keeping something from him, and continued to quiz his mum.

‘Are you a virgin? Are you a virgin?’ He asked the two women.

His mum held her nerve, and told him she was a ‘virgin’ at parachuting because she’d never done it before.

Understanding that she was keeping something from him, Aiden then demanded to know if his mother was a virgin herself

In the end doctors found that Aiden hadn’t suffered any broken bones from the fall

Aiden then told his mum ‘you’re not a virgin’, and she couldn’t stifle her giggles.

When Aiden finally saw the doctor he had an X-ray and was told that he’d suffered no broken bones.

Speaking to the camera, Angel explained that her son has always been a very curious little boy.

She said: ‘He’s a little star I can’t see him not doing well in life. He’s incredibly inquisitive and nosy. He wants to know everything and asks a hundred million questions an hour.’
