Heartbroken Nick Carter addressed his “complicated” relationship with late brother Aaron Carter in a heartfelt tribute following the singer’s tragic death on Saturday.

“My heart has been broken today,” he began a lengthy tribute alongside a slideshow of photos of him and Aaron over the years. “Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.

“I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.”

The 42-year-old Backstreet Boys member concluded, “I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz., now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth….God,Please take care of my baby brother.”

Aaron was found dead in his California home on Nov. 5 at age 34.

“It is with great regret to confirm Aaron Carter was found unresponsive this a.m. in his home in Palmdale, CA,” the singer’s rep told Page Six at the time.

“The family has been notified and will be flying out to Los Angeles,” the spokesperson continued. “Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life in recovery, to be a good father and to make amends with his family.”

Aaron and Nick have had a strained sibling relationship over the years, with the Grammy nominee requesting a restraining order against his younger brother in September 2019.
