‘Pose’ star Indya Moore makes New York Fashion Week runway debut for Jason Wu

Strike a pose.

On Sunday, actor and activist Indya Moore, who’s best known for their role as Angel Evangelista on the FX hit “Pose,” opened Jason Wu’s socially distanced outdoor runway show at Spring Studios Terrace during New York Fashion Week.

In their catwalk debut, the 25-year-old “Queen & Slim” star modeled a terracotta-colored eyelet maxi dress, beaded jewelry and tasseled sandals, and shared a sweet snap with Wu after the show.

“This is the first NYFW show I’ve ever walked,” Moore captioned their photo of the pair in matching face masks. “I’m so proud of Jason’s line, the fabric is incredible. its sturdy, soft and the clothing fits like a glove. Well done!”

The Bronx native is no stranger to the fashion world, having modeled for the likes of Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein; pre-pandemic, they sat front row at the runway shows for designers including Prabal Gurung and Christian Siriano.

Wu’s Tulum-inspired show hosted 36 guests in addition to streaming online on the CFDA’s new Runway360 platform. Those in attendance were required to fill out health questionnaires and have their temperatures checked before taking their seats, according to the Associated Press, and the designer distributed masks to all guests.

“I think the world needs beauty and optimism,” he said after his show. “New York Fashion Week is not over. It is strong. We’re here. … We can all be safe, be gathered and still be able to celebrate.”

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced in August that NYFW could move forward this season without spectators, save for a few outdoor events capped at 50 guests max.
