Cheeky Prince Harry earned the title ‘wild child’ from his early years – and he hated it.
The fun-loving royal always seemed more care-free than his brother, Prince William, who’s apparently a fan of Strictly Come Dancing!
While Harry made mischief and stuck his tongue out at the cameras, the future king has always been seen as a more serious figure.
Aged 32, during a tour of Lesotho and South Africa, the prince confessed, “When I was at school I wanted to be the bad boy.”
Harry was snapped partying with Jay Z, and no one will forget those naked pictures from his Las Vegas trip in 2012…
But the royal’s bad boy days are behind him and according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Harry was never impressed by his ‘wild child’ label.
Richard told Entertainment Daily, “Some say Harry resented not being taken seriously, despite his military service and charitable work.”
The prince spent ten years in the Armed Forces, taking part in two tours in Afghanistan – in 2008 and 2012 – and rose to the rank of captain before his retirement in 2015.
He also supports wounded veterans and founded the Invictus Games, a competition for injured ex-servicemen and women.
Prince William always held onto a professional reputation and, according to Richard, this difference between them kick-started their rift.
He explained, “Harry’s reputation was as the royal wild child for years, William’s image was far more serious however he behaved.”

Since marrying former actress Meghan Markle in 2018, Harry has reportedly made big changes.
Richard claims, “It was his marriage to Meghan which unquestionably changed him.”
But the brothers’ falling-out shows little signs of repair, with Harry revealing himself that he and William are on “different paths.”
While the royal expert says the brothers’ different reputations may have caused their fractured relationship, their wives also struggled with two very different personalities.
“The ‘Fab Four’ idea, that William and Catherine and Harry and Meghan would work together despite their different roles and personalities was a disaster,” he added.
“But no one predicted it. Harry now believes he was trapped as a member of the royal family…and that William currently is but doesn’t know it.”
Now Harry and Meghan are concentrating on their family and, Richard claims, they will “do things their own way” with their newborn daughter Lilibet.
