Astrology is about more than just your Sun sign, but knowing where the Sun was at your time of birth (your star sign) can help you to understand who you are at the core. Your star sign represents your ego, what you want and what you’re on the Earth to do. No idea what your star sign means? Express.co.uk reveals the top qualities for YOUR star sign.

Aries

Aries (March 21 to April 19) is symbolised by The Ram, and that’s a testament to Aries’ courage, leadership skills, and place in the Zodiac as the pioneer.

Aries Suns approach life “head-on” and are extremely competitive, needing to be the first to start and the first to finish whatever they set out to do.

Aries is an active, energetic sign and people born under the Aries Sun are direct, straightforward, and uncomplicated.

Sun in Aries people are natural athletes and use their bodies and movement to get things done.

They love to start anything new and they have trouble sitting still.

Taurus

Taurus (April 20 to May 20) is represented by The Bull because people born under this sign are tenacious, stubborn, and peaceful until angered.

This sign is persevering, determined, dependable and solid.

Taureans are known for being very sensual and they love all pleasures of the senses, from sex and food to music and soft furnishings.

Taurus Suns are hard workers and desire wealth and luxury, even though their comfort-loving ‘slow and steady’ nature can make them come across as lazy at times.

Gemini

Gemini (May 21 to June 20) is represented by The Twins, which says all you need to know about the duality possessed by Geminis.

This sign can be shown as having two different personalities or people saying that they are so adaptable and flexible that they can slot in anywhere.

Geminis can adapt to any situation and they’re very sociable, often wowing people with their wit and intelligence.

Gemini Suns need to express themselves but sometimes it can be hard to know how a Gemini REALLY feels because they are quite scattered and come across as a little nervous.

They are the ultimate social butterfly and everyone loves to be around them.

Cancer

Cancers, born between June 21 to July 22, are represented by the crab.

Like crabs, Cancerians scuttle around in an indirect manner and they have a soft inside with a hard, self-protective shell.

These people are extremely protective of themselves and others and they have a reputation for being quite moody.

However, Cancerians are very dependable, empathetic and caring when you catch them in the right mood.

Cancer Suns are sensitive and often reminisce on the past, but they don’t like to share much about themselves and prefer to feel safe and secure.

Cancerians are soft and hospitable, but they can also be touchy and indirect and hate bluntness.

Leo

Leos, born between July 23 to August 22 are as proud and regal as their symbol, the Lion.

Lions are known for being majestic, natural-born leaders, and the same is true for Leo people.

Leos are often thought of as vain or conceited, but the confidence and surety expressed by Leo is motivated by a desire to change the world and make others happy.

Leo Suns dream big and work hard, but they’re also happy and jovial people who are extremely loyal.

Virgo

Virgo (August 23 to September 22) is symbolised by the Virgin, also known as the maiden or lady in waiting.

This doesn’t mean Virgos are celibate, they can just be shy or have a need to keep their personal identity intact throughout their lives.

People wrongly associate Virgos with being nitpicking or clean freaks, but this controlling nature actually comes from being great at prioritising and list-making.

They also like to feel appreciated or responsible for something, and sometimes they feel discontent if they aren’t working hard enough or taking part in something they’re passionate about.

Virgos are known for being anxious or neurotic about their health or simply being really interested in health, nutrition and fitness.

Libra

Libras (September 23 to October 22) are represented by the Scales, and this is really fitting because Libras are concerned with equality, harmony, justice and balance.

This sign is clever, sociable, approachable and prefers to cooperate and build bridges rather than cause conflict.

Sometimes Libras can be people-pleasers because they need to surround themselves with peace.

Libras want whatever is best or right and will stop at nothing to achieve this for themselves or others.

Scorpio

Scorpios (October 23 to November 21) are obviously represented by the Scorpion because this sign can sometimes be cunning and revengeful like the stinging creature.

This sign is known for being intense, throwing themselves into situations and relationships straight away and committing to them fully.

Scorpios crave power and they won’t stop until they’ve got what they want.

Scorpio Suns don’t mind confrontation and they’ve been through quite a lot of struggle in their lives.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21) is symbolised by The Archer who is half-man and half-horse.

The centaur is adventurous, brave and wise, but it also partakes in uncivilised behaviour like Sagittarius.

The shooting arrow represents Sagittarius’ need for purpose and abundance and how this sign is always thinking about the future and their next step.

Sagittarians are cheerful and friendly and have lots of friends, but they are also free spirits who hate restrictions and routines.

The easygoing sign is very forgiving and honest, but they’re quick to anger.

Capricorn

Capricorns (December 22 to January 19) are symbolised by the hardy, hardworking and gregarious mountain goat.

This sign works through challenges slowly but surely and they have enormous strength of character, and this is why they often do so well at work.
Capricorns don’t indulge in the frivolous, they only want to do things that are worthwhile, useful and will bring satisfaction.

They are concerned with status and luxury items, and this can sometimes make Capricorn quite lonely and seem quite emotionless.

However, Capricorns have a hilarious sense of humour (usually sarcastic) and are great at making people laugh.

Aquarius

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18) is the Water Bearer who gives life and spirituality to everyone they meet.

This sign is forward-looking, growth-oriented and concerned with equality and freedom.

Aquarius people like to be individual and hate to follow the beaten track, which means they’re very innovative and quirky.

While Aquarians are clever, witty and intellectual, sometimes they come across as aloof and standoffish.

However, this is just because this sign values frankness and likes to be on top of things.

Pisces

Pisces (February 19 to March 20) is represented by The Fish, which are notably swimming in two different directions.

This is telling and links to the fact that Pisceans often feel like they are being pulled in different directions and find it hard to settle down or make a decision.

On the other hand, the aimless nature of the fish shows how open-minded and spiritual Pisces can be.

Pisces can blend in with people from all walks of life and backgrounds because they’re so adaptable, however, they can come across as flaky and wishy-washy.

This sign is a dreamer and extremely creative, choosing to express themselves through the arts, drama, music, and so on.
