It's finally bank holiday Monday which means Brits can enjoy a long three-day weekend away from work.

Now with many restrictions eased during the coronavirus pandemic, it's important to check websites for regular updates.

When it comes to food shopping, a lot of these supermarkets might operate with different opening hours today.

So if you're planning a trip to the stores, it's best to know the operating times.

Many supermarket giants like Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda will have different rules today.

Here are the bank holiday Monday supermarket opening times.

Tesco

The opening hours for Tesco will really depend on how large the store is.

Some superstores are operating a reduced schedule and will be open from 8am to 6pm instead of the usual 10pm.

As for smaller Tesco Express stores, the opening hours will remain the same but could vary, although it's usually 6am to 11pm.

Sainsbury's

The local stores have longer opening hours, usually between 7am to 11pm.

And this won't change for bank holiday Monday either.

Some supermarkets will open from 8am to 5:30pm.

Asda

The supermarket will have some stores operating a reduced schedule today.

It will either be open from 6am to 8pm or 8am to 8pm.

Usually most Asda stores will close at 10pm.

Aldi

Depending on where you are, most Aldi stores will be open from 8am to 8pm.

Over the weekend, the store was operating from 8am to 10pm on Saturday.

And it was 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Lidl

The opening hours at Lidl won't be much different to its usual operating times.

Lidl will be open between 7am to 11pm on Monday.

However yesterday it would have been operating from 10am to 7pm.

Morrisons

Stores will either be open from 8am to 7pm or 8am to 10pm depending on the location.

The supermarket allows colleagues with an NHS badge to shop an hour before any other customer.

But most stores have different operating hours.
