Tesco slashes the cost of parma violet gin liqueur in half

TESCO has slashed the cost of bottles of parma violet gin liqueur by more than half, and shoppers are loving it.

The booze usually costs £14, but a savvy shopper has spotted it on sale for only £6.

The tipple from Tw Kempton is said to be best enjoyed mixed with tonic water, or you can pair it with Prosecco.

The 50cl bottles come with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 20 per cent.

They're currently not available on Tesco's website, but a savvy shopper in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook told The Sun she spotted them for sale at the huge discount in Tesco's superstore in Bromley by Bow, East London.

A post in the group quickly also got several thousand comments with others who are keen to snap up the bargain.

Some users were disappointed to find that the booze isn't on offer in their local Tesco branch, so your best bet would be to try the bigger Tesco stores. You can find your nearest one using its store locator.

The Sun has also asked Tesco to confirm the details of the offer but we haven't yet heard back – we'll update this article as soon as we do.

Asda and Morrisons both sell parma violet gin by Whitley Neill for £20, but this comes with a higher ABV of 43 per cent as well as a bigger bottle at 70cl.

While Sainsbury's sells a violet gin by J.J Whitley for £16.

This comes in bottles of 70cl, and an ABV of 38.6 per cent.

A few weeks ago, Aldi also started selling a purple glittery gin that tastes of parma violets for £10.

B&M has also been selling violet gin for £14.99 – and shoppers were going mad for it.

At the end of March, Brothers Cider launched two new flavours including one tasting of parma violet.
