Danny DeVito has showcased just how much he appreciates his fans, by taking a cardboard cut-out of one to the set of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The unexpected visit was in response to the fan in question, 17-year-old Allison Closs, bringing a cutout of DeVito to her school prom as her date in May.
Her prom photos went viral as she posed alongside her ‘date’, who she’d dressed up to match her own blue prom gown.
Hey Allison- I heard you took cardboard Danny to Prom. What a coincidence. He took cardboard Allison to Paddy’s…

And the actor clearly appreciated her efforts, as he has been pictured posing with a similar cut-out of Closs at Paddy’s, the comedy’s fictional bar.
The adorable gesture was captured by DeVito’s It’s Always Sunny co-star Rob McElhenney, who posted a picture of Closs at her prom to his Instagram account.
“Hey Allison- I heard you took cardboard Danny to Prom. What a coincidence. He took cardboard Allison to Paddy’s…” he wrote.
He then shared a second photo – of DeVito holding up a cut-out of Closs on the Paddy’s set and pointing to it.
Closs responded to the post on Twitter, letting the actors know just how excited she was.
“I am shooketh,” she tweeted. “Thank you SO, SO MUCH @RMcElhenney and @DannyDeVito for fulfilling my dream of visiting Paddy’s Pub from @alwayssunny!!”
She went on to say: “I’m so glad that this is going to be my high school legacy…”
As legacies go, it certainly beats scratching your initials into a desk…
