Davina McCall has been left devastated after the death of her father, Andrew, who died after a battle with Alzheimer's.
Andrew sadly died on Monday (February 28), with Davina paying tribute on Thursday (March 3) to the "legend" whose death has left an "enormous hole" in her life.
Taking to Instagram, Davina penned a poignant statement which read: "My Dad, Andrew, died on Monday night.
"He took a turn for the worse on Sunday but thankfully he wasn’t in pain. He was peaceful. I'm so grateful for that, and that we could be with him.
"He was the best Dad I could ever wish for. My sister and I hit the jackpot. He always made time for us, opened his (and my amazing mumma's) house to all our friends, temporarily adopted mates of mine that needed help.
"He was a facilitator, always helping people with intros… he knew EVERYBODY. And they ALL loved him!"
She continued: "I can’t imagine how many careers and businesses were started because of him. The word legend has been used many times to describe my Dad.
"He was a bon vivante, loved life, positive to the very end… 'it just works' was one of the last phrases he was able to say as Alzheimer’s robbed him of the power of speech.
"He lived life. He loved us. And we loved him. With all our hearts. He leaves an enormous hole in our lives."
Along with her post, Davina posted a sweet selfie of her alongside her dad, sitting in the sand dunes of a beach and both grinning for the camera in a memory captured forever.
The Big Brother star was soon supported by her celebrity friends, with Ben Fogle commenting under her post: "I'm so sorry Davina."
Line of Duty star Vicky McClure added: "I'm so so sorry to hear this Davina. Sending you and your family all my love."
Fearne Cotton posted: "I love you my friend. Prayers and love to you Dav. Here for you."
"Sending so much love," Dancing On Ice's Rachel Stevens said.
Davina has used her dad's battle with Alzheimer's to raise awareness of the issue, and on World Alzheimer's Day last year penned a tribute to her beloved father.
She explained back in September alongside a snap of her parents: "This is my Mum and Dad… Dad (Andrew … total legend) has Alzheimer’s.
"My mum has cared for him so brilliantly. He is now in a wonderful home, where they take amazing care of him. It’s been hard on my mum but she was at breaking point."
She added: "He is ok, but it is f****** heartbreaking this illness. The worst thing is the loss of dignity… there are great inroads being made into new treatments…
"If you know anyone with Alzheimer’s, @alzheimerssoc are so helpful, my heart goes out to anyone supporting a loved one with Alzheimer’s or anyone that’s lost someone to this cruel illness."
