Eminem’s Coachella 2018 Performance Included 50 Cent & Dr Dre

Eminem made his Coachella debut yesterday with a little help from his friends 50 Cent and Dr. Dre. Following up Beyoncé’s spectacular two-hour performance on Saturday, Slim Shady took to the stage against an industrial backdrop reminiscent of his semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile.

“We ain’t ever been on this stage. This is the best f****ing time Eminem has ever had,” his hype man announces after the opening number, according to EOnline. “It feels great to be back in….America!” adds Eminem. “We need to start this sh*t off right.”

Performing in front of a full orchestra, the Detroit rapper revisited his remarkable catalog with classics such as “White America,” “Kill You,” “Sing for the Moment,” and “Soldier,” as well as “Love the Way You Lie,” and “Stan,” which featured Skylar Grey subbing for Rihanna, and Dido

Marshall Mathers’ first high-profile guest, 50 Cent thrills the crowd with hits like “Patiently Waiting,” “I Got Money,” and “In Da Club”. Before launching into “My Name Is,” and “The Real Slim Shady,” Eminem asks the crowd, “Coachella, can I take you back to a time when I was actually good?” Soon after, Dre takes the stage to join in on chart-toppers “Still Dre,” “Nuthin’ But a G Thang,” and “Forgot About Dre.”

“Y’all know who that is?” Eminem says, teasing the crowd and pointing at Dre. “I know y’all did not forget who this man is.” Dre ends his set with a cover of Tupac’s “California Love,” which ends with the voice of Shakur singing the final verse.

Eminem wraps up his Coachella performance with “Lose Yourself,” his seminal hit from 8 Mile. The crowd was able to celebrate Eminem’s triumphant return, which proved that at 45, the rapper is still in his prime, by enjoying “mom’s spaghetti,” available at the rapper’s pop-up concession stand at the festival.
