Emmerdale actress Sophie Powles has given birth to her first child.

The 32-year-old actress shared the wonderful news on Instagram over the weekend just one month after she welcomed her baby girl.

And the blonde bombshell has shared her unique name with her 22,300 followers after she was bombarded with questions from her loyal legion of fans.

The new mum named her sweet bundle of joy Marli Ocean Waters.

Sophie, who played the role of Holly Barton on the ITV soap, shared a sweet snap of her daughter's leg on Instagram which her partner Mark Waters took of them.

She captioned the memorable moment: "Nearly a month ago our little girl joined us. Marli Ocean Waters you are Magic. Photo by dad @markwatersfilm."

The doting dad also shared the same on his Instagram alongside a clearer image of their beautiful daughter as she crawled around on the bed,

He penned: "Marli Ocean Waters. I can't believe I get to be your dad:) I will spend the rest of my life, showing you how much I love you. Your mum is pretty cool too."

Their fellow celebrity friends have shared congratulatory messages to the new parents online including Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati who added: "I love this you are magic mummy."

The actress first revealed that she was expecting their first child back in June when she shared a snap of her blossoming belly as the happy couple soaked up the sun on the beach.

Dressed in a leopard print one-piece the yummy mummy gushed: "And so the adventures of us three begin."

Sophie was just a teenager when she landed a role on the Yorkshire-based soap and played the role of Holly for three years between 2009 and 2012.

But since she left the show, the actress has been candid about her struggles finding work as an established actor especially during the global pandemic.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the blonde belle revealed how she had worked at High Mood Food Café in central London after she found difficulty landing a role.

She admitted: "I moved to London a few years ago to further pursue my acting career.

"Alongside various odd acting jobs the truth is I have spent most of my time working in a health food café. It felt like defeat. It felt like failure."
