Rumors Swirl About Cameron Diaz’s Retirement From Acting

Is Cameron Diaz really retired from acting or did one of her costars simply stir the pot when claiming the actress was done with Hollywood?

Selma Blair, who costarred with Diaz in The Sweetest Thing, sent the rumor mill buzzing the other day during an interview with told Metro News.

“I had lunch with Cameron the other day, we were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting, she’s like, ‘I’m done.’ I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films, she has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy,” revealed Blair.

Social media went crazy once the interview was released on Monday. Could it be the blonde beauty was done with acting? It has been almost four years since her last movie role, which was in the Annie remake.

Ever since Diaz married husband Benji Madden in 2015, she has lived a low-key life outside of the spotlight. She has been focusing her attention on being a wellness ambassador, Plus, the actress wrote two books on wellness. The Body Book and The Longevity Book, in which she shared her secrets to aging beautifully.

Diaz has never said she is finished with acting but did admit she was taking a break from life in the business.

“I just went, ‘I can’t really say who I am to myself, which is a hard thing to face up to. I felt the need to make myself whole,” she shared at a wellness panel in 2017.

Thanks to social media outrage about Blair’s revelation she had to take to Twitter to clarify her comments.

“BREAKING NEWS. Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.” Tweeted Blair.

Cameron Diz may or may not be retired from acting, but there is no official word from the actress on the subject. She has not even commented on the recent rumors. One thing is for sure though, right now she is enjoying married life and living a spotlight free life.
