Spice Girls Angry at Management for Signing Jess Glynne as Tour Supporting Act?

AceShowbiz -The Spice Girls are reportedly feuding with Jess Glynne ahead of the singer’s support spot on the group’s upcoming “Spice World” tour.

Band members Mel B (Melanie Brown), Geri Horner (Geri Halliwell), Emma Bunton and Mel C (Melanie C) are allegedly unhappy that they were not consulted on Glynne’s booking, and have insisted that her fee is kept separate from their earnings.

The “Wannabe” singers are set to embark on the U.K. leg of a planned world tour this summer, culminating with three shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The “Hold My Hand” hitmaker is expected to earn $1.7 million (£1.3 million) from her stint on the 13-date run, after signing a deal worth $132,295 (£100,000) per show.

A source reportedly told The Sun that while the group are fans of Glynne’s music, they are unhappy that the decision was made without their knowledge.

“(The Spice Girls) absolutely love Jess and are huge fans of her music,” they claimed. “But they weren’t happy when they heard she had been signed as the support act.”

“They are blaming Modest Management for sorting the deal without their permission.”

The insider went on to suggest that the “I’ll Be There” singer was hired to “appeal to a younger generation,” but that the band felt that her spot on the tour was unnecessary.

“The girls had faith in their fanbase to make the tour a success,” the source continued.”They say it wasn’t their decision and are refusing to pay her the money out of their earnings, saying Modest have to sort it from a separate pot.

“It’s all got pretty awkward.”
