The Chase star Mark Labbett reveals how much weight he's lost

The Chase star Mark Labbett has opened up about his weight loss – revealing just how much he’s shed.

The Beast was appearing on The Wright Stuff, which is currently being hosted by Matt Barbet until Jeremy Vine takes over.

“You are a fine figure of a man, but you’ve actually lost quite a bit of weight recently, haven’t you?” Matt asked him.

“Why did you lose the weight, was there a medical reason behind it?”

Mark, 53, replied: “I’ve lost about three stone. It was the diabetes and baby diet.”

Laughing off a joke that he eats babies, he continued: “Obviously, [the diabetes] just showed how much sugar I was eating, so I simply cut that out. I’m just eating sensibly and cutting the sugar out.

“I’m still eating big meals, but I couldn’t keep the weight up, and that and running after a little one is also good at keeping me active.”

But Bradley Walsh’s pal, who stands at six foot six, said he isn’t worried that his shrinking frame would affect his intimidating reputation.

Mark recently told Digital Spy in an exclusive interview that his weight and unsteadiness prevented him from taking part in Dancing on Ice.

He revealed that he was approached by the show’s producers, who asked him to demonstrate his skills in an ice rink.

“They saw me walking on my ice skates and decided it was too dangerous to my partner,” he said. “Even though I’ve lost weight, I’m still 24 stone and if I fall on someone, they’ve had it.”
