Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black look forward to welcoming their first child with surprise baby shower

Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black are expecting a baby boy via a surrogate later this year, in case you hadn’t heard.

And to celebrate, they were thrown a surprise baby shower this weekend.

The 23-year-old Olympic diver and the 43-year-old US screenwriter took to Instagram to share pictures and stories of the joyous occasion.

The couple are pictured together wearing ‘Oh Baby’ glasses and drinking from baby bottles, which we presume (and hope) were not filled with milk.

They were also sporting ‘Daddy to be’ sashes and had a rather impressive table of cakes laid out for them.

“What a day yesterday! 👶🏼🚿 • • • And yes…I’m wearing a boot,” posted Tom, referring to his recently-injured leg.

Their decision to have a child via a surrogate mother has been criticised by some, but Daley was quick to shoot them down.

“There are lots of people in this world that can’t have kids, whether it’s due to fertility issues or health issues, whatever it may be, I don’t think there would be as much drama if it was a straight couple,” said the Olympic diver.

Tom and Dustin married last year and are now expecting a baby boy.
