Tom Parker’s widow saves seat for late husband and embraces ‘year of firsts’

Tom Parker’s grieving widow Kelsey saved a seat for her late husband as she attended her first wedding since his passing as she embraces a “year of firsts” without him.

The dad-of-two passed away at the age of 33 on March 30 after his year-long battle with an inoperable brain tumour.

He was determined to document his battle with the deadly cancer and went on to raise millions of pounds for charity throughout his treatment.

And now it appears as though The Wanted star's loving wife, 32, is continuing his legacy as she regularly updates her loyal legion of fans on her and her family’s adjustment to life as a three.

Over the weekend, the single mother shared a slew of beautiful snaps at her best friend’s wedding where she was pictured a gorgeous blush pink silk bridesmaid’s dress.

In the snap Kelsey raised a toast as she sat beside an empty chair which had a small wooden sign on the back that read “For Tom” and framed with a floral bouquet.

Alongside the emotional snap, she shared a lengthy post about the “bittersweet” celebration as she watched her close pal say ‘I do’ to the love of her life.

She penned: “The year of firsts [heartbroken emoji]. My first wedding without my love.

“I knew this was going to be the toughest weekend and I knew my heart would be all over the place.

“This weekend for me was so bittersweet, I was watching my best friend marry the love of her life yet 7 weeks ago I lost mine.”

Kelsey continued: “The thing about death is that even though I have suffered the most traumatic experience, the world keeps turning.

“The sun keeps shining and I know Tom was watching over me especially when the sun was beaming on us all day.

“I really enjoyed myself this weekend and it was so nice to actually let my hair down and be Kelsey. I raised a glass to my boy and I know he’s up there having shots.”

She concluded the emotional post saying: “There were moments when my heart would ache, moments when the tears wouldn’t stop rolling down my face and moments where I laughed until my belly hurt. In this crazy world – Life is for living.”

The star was soon flooded with support from her famous friends and loving fans on social media.

TV chef Steph Wood penned: “He would have been right there with you Kels [heart emoji] you’re so strong. Love you xxxxxxx.”

Another added: “Love you beyond! He deffo was there with us and he’s beyond proud of you as we all are! You are Inspirational!!!!! [four heart emojis].”

A third chimed in with: “Was lovely to see you Kelsey and Tom definitely brought the Sun [heart emoji].”
