Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is the latest company to roll out the red carpet for furloughed federal workers.
The Bahamas cruise specialist says federal employees impacted by the government shutdown who happen to be in the area of its South Florida hub can stop by for a free buffet lunch on one of its ships.
They also can stick around for a free afternoon of fun on board the vessel – and bring along their families, too.
The offer is available every day through Jan. 31, except for Jan. 25 and 26, or until the shutdown ends (whichever is sooner).
Based at the Port of Palm Beach, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line operates two ships, the 1,486-passenger Grand Celebration and 1,680-passenger Grand Classica. Both sail short, two-night cruises from Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island year-round.
One of the two ships is docked in Palm Beach almost every day as it resupplies in between voyages.

Furloughed federal workers who want to take advantage of the offer should call Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line’s customer service number (800-374-4363) to make a reservation. They’ll need to show a federal ID at the port upon check-in.
Visiting federal workers will be able to stay on board the ships from noon to 3 p.m.
