Legoland gives free entry to everyone called Louis – like the new royal baby

Parents and their children can get in without a ticket on one condition – that they are called Louis, the same name as the newborn.

Now that Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced the baby’s name, the offer will be valid for anyone entering the park until July 19.

Anyone who aims to claim that they are called Louis with a chance should bring some proof of ID with them.

This year, the park has used two million Lego bricks to create exciting new landmarks from all over the world.

Miniland USA features a 15ft Empire State Building, plus the Statue of Liberty and scenes from Las Vegas and Route 66, taking in Chicago and Arizona.

Also new at the park in Windsor, Berks is Miniland Explore the World, with iconic monuments from Australia, India, Russia and China, including Sydney Opera House and the Taj Mahal.

The new mini landmarks took 55 model makers around 12,000 hours to build.

Fans of the toy bricks will love Lego Reef, where you can build your own underwater creatures, then watch them come to life on a digital screen.

A 4D film, Lego Ninjago, also opens for the start of the new season and you can book a Ninjago-themed room at Legoland Windsor Resort – buy  a Legoland ticket with a meal deal here.

Legoland has also announced that it was building a new attraction for 2019 – The Haunted House Monster Party.

The spooky ride, which will be held inside an interactive haunted house, will feature an entrance lobby and a scary pre-show in the grand foyer.

In the ride, guests will be invited to join the “frightfully friendly vampire” for a party at his haunted home to celebrate his arrival.

Young party guests will be greeted by joke-telling Lego gargoyles and talking statues.

Inside the house, families will take their seats at a banquet table in a decorated hall piled with monster party food, cauldrons, potion bottles and goblets each made up of hundreds of Lego bricks.

When everyone is seated, the vampire will then bring the banquet hall swinging to life, turning the room upside down.
