Another airport animal smuggler strikes again.
A man was caught sneaking a live snake into Germany’s Berlin-Schonefeld Airport before a flight to Israel on Dec. 24, according to a press release from the German customs office.
Officials report the 43-year-old man was stopped at a security check when “employees noticed that he carried something in his pants that did not belong there.”
Police and customs officials were then called to the scene, which is when the 40-centimeter (15-inch) boa was found hiding in a small cloth bag attached to the waistband of the passenger’s pants.
After being confiscated by custom officials when no proper documentation was shown, the snake was taken to a reptile rescue station.
The passenger will be fined, according to the release.
