You can stay in a converted fire engine hotel for £14 a night – and even slide down a fireman’s pole

The retreat boasts a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed, a gated fireman’s lockable pole and a ladder leading downstairs and a well equipped kitchen with a glass door which leads to a sauna.

Other stunning pictures show the stylish shower room, the children’s twin bedroom with fire engine beds and curtains and the outside decking area where costumes and a fire hose are available to play with.

Red Rescue Retreat is located in Keswick in the Lake District for £402 for a week’s stay.

As the property sleeps four people this works out at a little more than £14 a night for each guest.

Entering the fire truck from the decked patio area leads to an open-plan accommodation with an array of features including the fireman’s pole and replica tied ceiling cables.

The hotel includes a fantastic sauna room with glass door, followed by shower room with shower and WC.

Also on the ground floor is a kids twin bedroom, with fire engine bedsteads and sleeping bags.

Up the ladder is the master bedroom, with comfy king-size bed, TV, dressing table and the gated lockable fireman’s pole.

Outside there is a decked patio with seating area.

Perfect for al fresco dining and lazy evening star gazing, across the spectacular Blencathra fells.

There is also a cabin in the fire truck with children’s fireman’s costumes and the trucks disused hose pipe, for children to play with.
