A82 Clydebank crash: Man taken to hospital after car rolls down embankment

A MAN has been taken to hospital after his car rolled down a steep embankment in Scotland.

The accident, which involved just one vehicle, occurred on the A82 near Clydebank, close to the Erskine Bridge.

Traffic Scotland are asking motorists to avoid the area, as huge queues of cars are already queuing back onto the bridge and onto the M8 motorway westbound.

In a statement on social media they said: "Northbound carriageway at Old Kilpatrick closed due to an RTC.

“Police are en route. Traffic is building in the area and impacting A898 Erskine Bridge."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 11.25am on Monday, July 19, we received a report that a car had gone down an embankment following a crash on the A82 near the Erskine Bridge.

"Emergency services are in attendance and a man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
