Chris Fawkes a mixture of storms and sunshine across Europe with Spain and Portugal set for temperatures as high as 28C. The BBC meteorologist warned that the storms will continue to spread across the continent on Monday and are expected to reach southeast Europe.
Mr Fawkes said: “One area of storm is affecting eastern areas of Spain, another patch bringing some storms towards Italy.
“There are storms extending in across France, pushing into Germany, there will be some hailstorms mixed in with these as we go through Sunday with those downpours extending into Austria.
“The southeast of Europe is quite weather wise at the moment. Temperatures are about 28C in the sunshine.
“Storms are clearing away for the most part from Spain and Portugal, more sunshine around here on Sunday, it will start to warm up again.
“The main area of storms will continue to push away from France as western areas brighten up with sunshine.
“On Monday those storms will continue to spread further eastwards, reaching parts of southeast Europe.”
The BBC’s long-range forecast Monday 14 to Sunday 20 June outlines above-average temperatures and warm weather.
The BBC wrote: “High pressure that builds in strongly towards the end of next week should begin a slow westward trek in mid-June, gradually shifting away from the UK and into the North Atlantic.

“Mid-June is likely to remain warmer and drier than normal for a time as high pressure lingers near enough to deflect weather fronts.
“Temperatures are likely to be above average for most and may be slightly warmer than we expect for next week.
“Low pressure will be deepening in north east Europe during the middle of June, bringing some cooler and wetter weather there.
“This should stay well to the east of us for a while, but it is being held there by the high pressure over the UK.”

The forecast continued: “Once our high begins to shift west, the cooler and wetter weather will spread in from the east.
“This may happen sometime in the second half of the week or hold off until a bit later in June.
“These warm summertime highs tend to be slow to move around, so it could take several days for the high to move far enough away that we see a change in the weather pattern.
“There is also a risk, about a 30% chance of occurrence, that high pressure stays overhead or slightly east of us well into July, keeping things warm, dry, and settled for the next several weeks.”
