A fire broke out Saturday evening in the Golden Gate Canyon area in the 4200 block of Bear Road.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued a pre-evacuation notice for the area northwest of Bear Road and Golden Gate Canyon Road because of a wildland fire.
“If you are concerned about your safety or believe you are in danger, do not wait for an official evacuation order – leave immediately,” the sheriff’s office said in a tweet.
Colorado 93 from Golden to Crawford Gulch Road is closed, with no estimate of reopening.
