Charming Prince George steals limelight at wedding after showing off his marching in his pageboy outfit

He caused hysterics as he paraded about in smart white shirt and blue shorts.

While he stuck to his pageboy role with military precision, his sister took a little more convincing.

Princess Charlotte didn’t share her brother’s enthusiasm for their special role, as the flower-girl nervously clutched a bouquet.

She appeared shy dressed in a pretty white smock dress with ruffled collar in a series of adorable photos of the young royals.

The prince and princess took on their starring duties cheered by proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

One snap shows impish George, five, gazing over his shoulder at photographers as he clutched his mother’s hand.

In another group shot Kate lovingly cradled three-year-old Charlotte in her arms.

The royals mingled with other guests at the posh wedding of Sophie Carter and Robert Snuggs, close friends of Kate, at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Letheringsett, Norfolk.

George and Charlotte were chosen to be among the three bridesmaids and four page boys taking part in the ceremony.

They all wore outfits from Amaia Kids – one of Kate’s favourite childrenswear labels.

One royal watcher said of the young prince: “George was having a great time, running around like the leader of the pack.

“He was loving his responsibility and played up to the crowd. At one point everyone chuckled as he began marching about.

“Charlotte wasn’t enjoying being the centre of attention quite so much.”

The young royals have taken on the roles of bridesmaid and page boy twice before, during the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in May, and at the nuptials of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews in 2017.

For Saturday’s celebration, mum Kate wore a striking blue dress, and dad William was seen wearing a traditional tailcoat.

Also in attendance were Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, along with the Duchess’s brother, James Middleton.

Pippa Middleton was notably absent, likely due to the fact she is expecting her first child next month.

Kate has been close friends with Ms Carter for years. The duo were first spotted together at Wimbledon in 2008.

Ms Carter was also named one of Princess Charlotte’s godparents ahead of her christening in 2015.

She is reported to have close Royal connections, and once dated Thomas van Straubenzee, a close friend of Prince William.
