Shocked residents have described how they heard a boy screaming after a man's body was discovered in a house on an estate, with a woman arrested on suspicion of murder.
The man was found by cops and paramedics in the early hours of this morning in the Orchard Park area of Hull, East Yorkshire around 1am.
One neighbour, Daniella Siantota, claims she saw a boy desperately knocking on doors and windows and screaming before paramedics arrived and fought to save the bloke's life, Hull Live Reports
Ms Siantota said: “I woke up and could hear a boy screaming. He was going around to the neighbours and knocking on windows. Then I saw blue lights and I went to the window and could see the ambulance and police were there and had opened the door.
"I saw a paramedic get the other one to go in and look. I know the ambulance got here in four minutes.
"I saw the police taking a woman – arresting her from the house. That’s it. I went back to bed and woke up and saw all of the police are still here and saw online about the murder.
"I’ve lived here about a year and not known anything like this happen it’s usually quiet. I’m really shocked.”
A second resident revealed her worry at the fact it occurred on her street and also described hearing "kiddies screaming".
Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: “I was asleep and woke up it was between 10pm and midnight. I went back to sleep and didn’t know anything this morning until the police came and asked if I’d heard anything.
"It makes me feel guilty but I was half asleep and the screaming wasn’t out of the ordinary."
An alternative entrance to the property, a gate which appeared to access the back garden, was also taped off.
A police cordon was put up to block an alleyway running alongside a row of terraced houses on the estate, and officers were seen standing guard throughout the day.
The police have described it as an "isolated incident" and have stressed there is no wider risk to the public.
In a statement the force said: "An investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found at an address on Dodthorpe in Hull shortly before 1am today, Saturday 9 November.
"A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, she remains in our custody at this time. The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
"Officers will be in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community, if you have any concerns please stop and speak to them."We do believe this to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public."
