A young couple have been "put off ice cream for life" after diving in and eating a tub of Ben and Jerry's only to later discover it was covered in green mould.
Emily Turbitt-Gibson, 16, and her boyfriend Edan Fielding-Phethean, 17, were physically sick after tasting the green fur.
Student Emily complained to Iceland where they bought it from and said: "It has put us off ice cream for life."
The pair had bought two for the price of one for £3 from the frozen food store in Burnley, Lancs.
But just as they were settling down for a romantic night in front of the TV watching Netflix, they recoiled in disgust as they realised they were eating mould.
Emily said: "After a long day me and Eden thought it a great idea to have a Netflix and chill night, so off we went down to our local Iceland to get some bits and decided on some Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Caramel Cookie Dough ice cream.
"'Mmm' we thought, but the 'mmm' soon turned into a 'urgh'.
"Watching the movie, we both took a spoonful each, looked at each other and said, 'Oh it tastes a bit funny'.
"We put the spoon back in for another try to find big chunks of green fur and mould in the tub.

"After throwing up numerous times, we examined it properly and were horrified at what we saw in the tub."
Emily, 16, added: "We didn't eat the second one. It has put us off ice cream for life."
She and Edan, 17, immediately phoned Ben and Jerry's customer services, who said their products leave their factory in "perfect condition" and told them to contact Iceland.
Emily said: "So we contacted Iceland to be even more disappointed to be told in writing that the store take relevant precautions to ensure this doesn't happen again.

"We didn't get a receipt as you don't expect you're going to need it for a tub of ice cream.
"They were quite conveniently unable to find our receipt as they said they don't have systems to locate receipts.
"Not even a refund for the ice cream was offered. We will never ever shop at Iceland again, not just for the sake of the ice cream but the sheer ignorance at not even offering a refund.
"Even now thinking about us both eating it makes me feel sick."
