Denver weather: Foggy and rainy first day of fall

The first day of fall is looking to be a cool and rainy one.

The high temperature Thursday is 64 degrees, and rain will be possible through the day and into the evening.

Areas of Denver and the Interstate 25 corridor will be foggy in the morning, as low temperatures are in the high 40s, but the fog should dissipate as the day goes on.

The chance of precipitation Thursday is about 50% for Denver, mainly between 3 and 7 p.m.

Most of that will be rain showers, but a few isolated thunderstorms could bring brief periods of heavy rain. Flooding threat is still low, though, outside of burn areas, and the National Weather Service canceled the flood watch for the mountain counties.

The rain will clear out by midnight, and so will the cold front temperatures, as Friday’s high will be 79 degrees. It’ll stay in the high 70s and low 80s and sunny through the weekend. Low temperatures will be around 50 degrees.
